Em is two months old

Em pretending to be Rocky....

Emerson celebrated her two month birthday yesterday with a photo shoot. She liked the lights and smiled lots. She is starting to sleep a little bit more at night and has blessed us with a few nights of 4 hours of sleep from 11-3.
Least favorites -hiccups and when Shelby barks so loud that she startles her and she cries.
Favorites -laying on her tummy and rolling over, her sister, dolls and bears, and her orange binkies. She also coos and smiles lots, especially for Samantha. Last night when Sam got back from an errand and Em saw her and she immediately woke up and smiled super big.
Both girls are excited for trick or treat, though Emerson wondered if anyone gives out orange binkies instead of candy.

High School Musical Movie

Sammie was so excited to go see High School Musical 3. Uncle Dennis and Riz and Mom all went Saturday afternoon. What a fun time we had- popcorn and giggles and Sammie telling the guys who each character was throughout the first 15 minutes of the movie. I had a crash course last week and watched HSM 1 and 2 so I would know what was going on...Em hung out with Sandi and Gene, later it was dinner out- what a fun day for the girls.

Halloween March - More Pics

After the March, back at school - time to warm up and dry off.

Ang and the Girls

Staying dry under the umbrella- Em snoozes

Sam and her buddies- Buzz Lightyear (Josh) and below is Sam and Cinderella (Sophie).

Halloween March at Daycare

Sam's former daycare and Emm's new daycare hosted their annual Halloween March. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate- lots of umbrellas and puddles. The kids all had a ball though even though of the gray skies. Sam did not have school today and has been so excited to go back to see her friends. Emm was glad to have her big sister there to help her meet everyone and tell her how it works at daycare.
Sammie and Angie

The Kids (try catching em all for a picture)

The Girls in the rain !

This morning before the March- Sam slept in curlers to get the right "look" for her princess gown. Emm wasn't sure why she had the giant red bow stuck on her head.

Snow White 1 and Snow White 2

The Girls for Halloween are Snow White. Samantha wanted them to match so the costumes were an early purchase after Emmy's arrival. The red bows and fluff are lots of fun. They had pictures taken yesterday- Sam's favorite is of her driving the tractor with Emmy in the back. It is all her favorite things- tractors and "fluff".

The many faces of Emerson

Emerson is quite expressive---she learned to smile in the last few days. However, catching that on camera is another story even for her mom who takes a million picutures. The photos above are so telling of her little "personality" in the making...

The Girls

Emmy's new friend.... and her take a snooze in the stroller while out for Sammie's b-day dinner.
Lots of friends to keep Miss Emmy company- she likes to "eat them"
The girls after baths... even Shelby is in the background...
Watch out- she is driving in the yard.....
Watching a little TV together...

Samantha is 6

Happy Birthday Samantha- (Emerson didn't understand the "FIRE" on the cake).
So exciting, a doodle bear....
Sam at lunch at school- the family enjoyed Taco Casserole on Friday (her actual b-day) with Sammie's class. It was so fun to see the kids all eat their cookies first and visit.
"It was all about me week" for Samantha- so during the week, she had to bring special things that she liked, her favorites and shared about her. The highlight at the end of the week is for family to join the class and read the "favorite story" of the "all about me" student. Sammie picked- Curious George Goes To the Ice Cream Shop. She also shared when she grows up she wants to be an artist and would like to travel to Hawaii.
The family heading out to recess- now that was fun!

Twirling ....

Samantha started baton class last week, there are 7 girls in the class. Tonight, we took the camera and tried to catch a few of the steps in action. Some of the tricks are called... pretzel, chocolate and vanilla, toaster and all involve some how throwing, catching, twisting, jumping, or spinning.
During the class you often hear the clanging of the metal batons hitting the floor, followed by giggles. One may wish to seek cover while watching the class. However, I can not say I would do any better. I did tell Sammie about my experience with batons and a trip to the ER many moons ago.
4 more weeks of class- who knows what she will be able to do by then....

Emerson will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. We took a few photos of her with a gift from Ang's Aunt Bonnie, which is the giant stuffed dog and month signs to see how she has grown. Amazing how she has changed so much all ready. Also, she was not so amused with the photo taking tonight.

Birthday at the Orchard

The girls all surprised Rob and took him to the Center Grove Orchard north of Des Moines tonight. It was a great time. They have many activities for people to do including a something called an air pillow...it is kind of like a huge trampoline. Rob and Sam had a great time jumping...all the little kids kept wanting Rob to jump with them to make them go higher and higher. Of course he couldn't help himself. They also have a "corn pool" that you can jump into...literally knee deep corn surrounded by bails of hay. Emerson even got into the pool after watching her mother jump in. They finished the night off by eating a carmal apple, having some "cider slush," and buying some pumpkins. Rob had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday during his favorite time of year...a beautiful fall evening.
