He Came.. Christmas Morning Memories

A special Christmas morning, full of excitement, Samantha talking and talking and both girls eyes' so wide and twinkling...

Christmas Eve 2009

We needed Rudolph to get through the storm on Christmas Eve. The weather changed our traditional plans. We went to church with the lights on bright and some holiday cheer in the windows.

A toast on Christmas Eve-

Yup-this is Em in the back of church laying down- this is before it even started. We went to 7:15 mass - she spent a lot of it in the back hanging out with the other lil ones.

Samantha showed Emmy the candles and the manager scene. Right after the picture was taken below, Em decided that Baby Jesus might need a hug- and picked him up!

Christmas Eve afternoon, we visited Santa and Sam wrote him a note- said "have a nice Christmas". Poor Em really didn't like the visit so much.

More Christmas Pictures at Home

Our photographer caught the fun of the anticipation of the holidays. There are a lot of great pictures. It was very neat to have the girl's looks and joy captured at home.

A few more cookies... and a few more messes

Peanut Butter Cookies

Another favorite is peanut butter blossom cookies. Em really got into the making of her dad's favorite Christmas cookie. She also got into a bit of trouble... Sam was in charge of rolling, Em was in charge of rolling in the sugar and mom was in charge of supervising... I ran to get the camera and came back to a dumped bowl of sugar and Em's hands flying around and Sam screaming mom come quick... It was very funny. Then, Em discovered that the sugar tasted good- so, she got cleaned up and went to see her friends the elves while Sam and I finished up.

See the bowl of sugar upside down and two very smiley girls-I still wonder which one started this- think both of em were up to no good while I stepped away .... hehehe

Christmas Preparation

Em and the lil Elf's having one of their many conversations about no no to the tree and saying....nimniminime (aka Minnie). This tree was decorated with Disney and all children's ornaments. Today when we put the tree away- Em said, "bye-bye" - even though the tree was still there- just missing the ornaments and her buddies the elves.
Sugar cookies are some of our favorites. We use Ang's Grandma Margaret's recipe. We tripled the batch and learned that perhaps that was a bit too big for the mixer. Made for some good laughs though for Sam and mom. Samantha enjoyed cutting them out and rolling the dough.

Em helped too- we had to be fast- because she would eat the dough....
